TOURING OUT OF LONDON

Many of our guests do of course spend time in London, but if you are coming to join us in the Cotswolds, there are normally two options.

Our preference is that you are coming to stay for one or more nights in our area. If you are staying in London and are looking for a day trip, see 2 below, but first I am explaining the best route out of London for those leaving their London accommodation.

1. LEAVING LONDON TO STAY IN THE COTSWOLDS

This gives us the opportunity to take you on a fabulous tour on your way to the Cotswolds. We collect you from your hotel at about 9.00am and take you to Windsor, where you will see the Castle and, subject to their timetable, the Changing of the Guard.

We then head west to Avebury Stone Circle, a World Heritage Site where you can walk amongst the stones and touch them, which in our opinion gives Avebury a huge advantage over Stonehenge. There is also a Manor House with wonderful gardens here in Avebury.

Depending on time, we can then go further west to Lacock, an old Cotswold village used in the settings of many historical film and TV dramas.

                                   Lacock village

Cloisters, Lacock Abbey

We finish by delivering you to your hotel in the late afternoon / early evening, and we look forward to leading you on our full 22-villages tour the next day.

2. STAYING IN LONDON - MAKE IT A DAY TRIP

It is impractical to collect our guests from London and return them later in the day - given our Cotswolds base it is economic use of neither time nor money. However, there are numerous visitors who catch a train from Paddington Station in London, arrive in the Cotswolds at any time between 9.00am and 10.00am, and we take you on our full tour before returning you to the station, most likely to catch a train back to London departing at about 6.00pm. We are flexible on this timing  - it's down to your preferences, availability of rail tickets on these popular lines, and so on. We'll meet you   -  most likely at Moreton-in-Marsh, though Oxford, Kingham and other stations are possible  -  with a board displaying your name, and then we're away straight into your private Cotswold Tour with your driver/guide.
